Manchester Business School MBA Latin American Society 2011
Hi all!
We are delighted to introduce to you the brand new Latin American Society of MBA students of Manchester Business School that recently was set up.
We are a MBA association that aims to promote the culture and values of Latin America and to foster the networking of member students with alumni, organizations and other MBA students from Latin America, mainly -but not exclusivelly- in the UK.
We are currently 29 members from both classes 2011 and 2012, not only from latin-american countries (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela), but also from other regions in the world, such as China, India, Ireland and Taiwan. It is worth to mention that these colleagues demonstrated a keen interest in Latin America.
The board of the society was elected last november and is conformed by 5 highly motivated MBA students from the class of 2012: Fernando Machado (Chairman, Brazilian), Jorge Huaman (Alumni Relations Delegate, Peruvian), Fernando Pazce (Events Delegate, Peruvian), Arturo Viloria (Communications Delegate, Mexican) and Paul Kelly (Diversity Delegate, Irish). Furthermore, we are proud to have Helen Dowd as our advisor.
After the elections, in late november, the Society in coordination with Raymond Ratti, a Dominican graduate student at Manchester Business School, invited HE Dr Federico Cuello Camilo, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic for the United Nations Organization, who gave a master conference about the problems that Haiti and the Dominican Republic are facing after almost one year of the earthquake that devastated Haiti.
This year, we are planning to have diverse activities, such as networking events, conferences, films from Latin america and our so awaited Latin Night on early march, 2011.
Finally, we don’t want to miss the opportunity to mention that we feel proud to see the appearance of Alex Cruz, our eager President of the MBA Student Council, in the FT magazine of the MBA Rankings 2011, last January 31, 2011. Let’s Make Manchester Proud! You can see the article in this link:
